We’ve yet to deck the halls at The Forge (though receptionist Nikki is ready and raring to go with the tinsel!) but we’re already filling up our diaries for the festive season. We’ve got our Christmas party to look forward to, but there are lots of other events coming up in Richmond this winter.
This year’s Frost Fayre and the official turning on of the Richmond lights will be on Friday 27th November. There’s always lots to see and do and this year is no exception. Starting at 12pm there’s a petting farm and a carousel to enjoy, along with festive music, snacks and – of course! – Santa’s Grotto in the garden of the Vineyeard Community Centre.
The lights will be turned on by panto stars at 6pm – so don’t be late!
If there is one thing we do well – it’s a Christmas carol concert and there are plenty to choose from this year. So you should be able to get to at least one in between your Christmas shopping:
Monday 7th December: Christmas Carols by Candlelight at St Marks Church
Tuesday 8th December: Faure Quartet at St Margaret’s Catholic Concert
Thursday 10th December: Christmas Concert at St James’s Church
Friday 11th December: Christmas Concert at St Magdalene Church
Thursday 17th December: The INS Carol Concert at Holy Trinity Church
Christmas is a time for indulgence – within reason! – so why not treat yourself to a little break from the Christmas rush with a wine tasting at Kew Gardens? You could book it as an early Christmas present or plan the best wine for your Christmas day feast.
Carols by Candlelight
It’s not a Richmond event, but as it is in aid of Prostate Cancer UK, a charity very close to the heart of one of our practitioners, Maureen McCann, we wanted to share it with you. On Wednesday 2nd December at St Paul’s Church, Carols by Candlelight will be offering readings by Dame Diana Rigg and Larry Lamb amongst others. There will also be music, mulled wine and mince pies. Tickets are available online here or over the phone on 020 3310 7028.
