A healthy mind is every bit as important as a healthy body. In fact, our minds have a lot to do with keeping our bodies healthy as it talks us in – or out! – of going out for a run on a cold day, or choosing the healthy meal option over the fast food one.

Lately, it seems that our minds are constantly full and stress is becoming an everyday part of our lives. We wake up stressed and often go to bed still worrying and mulling over our to-do lists. It seems we are constantly worrying about things to do at work, things that need to be done at home, getting to the gym, seeing friends and family. We are becoming stressed over our own work-life balance.

While stress is an unpleasant thing to live with on a day-to-day basis, it can also manifest in your body in a variety of ways, including:

  • Tension headaches
  • Neck pain
  • Shoulder pain
  • Skin complaints
  • Weight issues
  • Digestive problems

If you are suffering from any of these complaints, we can help. Give reception a call on 020 8332 6184 to discuss your options or book an appointment online.

However, it is important to deal with the root causes of stress to prevent the problems constantly recurring. There are many ways you can deal with stress, here are some options to try:

Regular Massage
Carve out a regular space in your diary for dedicated you time, where you can switch off and do nothing for an hour or so. Book it in ahead of time and make it non-negotiable.

Journalling
Try starting or ending your day with a few pages in a notebook. Use it as a ‘brain dump’ – somewhere to put all your worries and niggling thoughts so you can get on with your day or get to sleep.

Revamp Your Diary
How are you keeping track of what you need to do? If you are trying to keep it all in your head – no wonder you’re stressed! Get yourself a diary and use it every day. It’s a great way to ensure you never have to worry about forgetting anything and makes fitting things in much easier as you can see when you have time.

Meditation
Take 5 minutes out of your day to meditate – there are many guided videos on YouTube. Learn to quiet your mind so that you are able to bring that calm to your daily life.
